MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (AP) -Uruguay's Edinson Cavani scored in the 67th minute to salvage a 1-1 draw against Ecuador on Tuesday in South American World Cup qualifying.
Both teams are battling near the top of the South American standings. Ecuador improved to 13 points and defending South American champion Uruguay has 12.
Felipe Caicedo gave Ecuador a 1-0 lead with a 6th minute penalty. Caicedo also scored from a penalty Friday in Ecuador's 1-0 victory over Bolivia.
