Guy Fieri Paid $100,000 by Billionaire to Hang Out for One Day: Report

Time is money -- and an hour of Guy Fieri's is apparently worth tens of thousands of dollars. According to a new book featured in the New York Post's Page Six, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host was paid a whopping $100,000 just to hang out with billionaire Steven Cohen for a day.

The book, Allen Salkin's From Scratch: Inside the Food Network, claims Cohen paid the splashy chef to reenact an episode of his hit show in Connecticut. Page Six quotes Salkin as saying that the embattled hedge-fund manager "paid Guy Fieri $100,000 to be his friend for a day."

Afterward, Salkin writes, the two actually became friends. Cohen's favorite hot dog spot, Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield, Conn., was even featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

A rep for Cohen -- whose SAC Capital Advisors has been charged with insider trading -- told Page Six the story "is false," though Cohen and Fieri do know each other. A rep for the Food Network, meanwhile, declined to comment on the book. (Page Six reports that execs were unhappy with the direction Salkin was taking.)

According to Page Six, the book also alleges that fellow Food Network stars Rachael Ray and Marc Summers hit up a strip club together -- at chef Mario Batali's urging -- during a trip to Cleveland, Ohio, in 2004.

"When they arrived...it was closing in 15 minutes, [and] Mario ordered 25 shots and sent over lap dances to Marc and Rachael," the book reads. They reportedly protested, but Salkin claims Ray was so hungover the next day that she "forgot to explain details of her recipes."
